International courses for ISU judges
International judges were trained before the international competitions and learned how to do the starting procedure on the basis of the competitions held on the ice arena of the Moscow Region Speed Skating Center «Kolomna».
40 best referees from 15 countries of the world (South Korea, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Canada, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, USA, China, Finland and Russia) will remember their visit to Kolomna for long: they were amazed by the beauty of the city, and the facilities of the Speed Skating Center.
Tron Espeli (Norway), ISU Technical Committee (Speed Skating) Chairman, head of the courses: «I heard about the Kolomna Skating Center, but when I saw it with my own eyes I was almost without words. From the point of view of ice arena specialist and simple visitor this level is just fantastic! Beside, I think this Speed Skating Center is the best one among the rinks of the sea level. They prepare perfect ice here and ISU is planning to conduct international competitions in Kolomna next season».

More than 120 schoolchildren 14 years and elder from Kostroma, Vologda, Tcherepovets, Arkhangelsk, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Saratov, Tatarstan, Khabarovsk, Saint Petersburg and Moscow. 59 children from Kolomna took part in the championships, the program of which included the distances of 500 m and 1 000 m.
The competitions originated on the initiative of Alexander Kibalko and his ideas were supported by sportsmen and staff of the Speed Skating Center «Kolomna». The major aim of the competitions is to inspire children to win today and tomorrow.
Kolomna participants many times became winners and medalists of these competitions. Viktoria Malyugina (among the youngest girls) won both the distances, Anna Koulytcheva won 500 m races among senior girls. Iliya Morozov was the best among the middle age boys. Anatoly Tchetchetov showed the best results in 500 m distances among the juniors, while Yaroslav Vikoulin was the best at 1 000 m distances.
Winners and medalists were presented with medals, Cups, sports equipment and memorable souvenirs. Championships for the prizes of Merited masters of sports Dmitry Dorofeyev, Svetlana Zhurova and Alexander Kibalko will be traditional from now on.
